Lobsterfest is Bettendorf Rotary Club’s Annual Fundraiser!
Bettendorf Rotary Club gets involved in multiple projects each year to help support our community. For example...A fairly new initiative is our Blanket Drive with blankets given to individuals and families in need through many agencies in our community. We collected and delivered over 4,000 blankets in 2023. Each year we also send four high school students to the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy for students throughout Iowa. We sponsor a “Pay it Forward” program with all Bettendorf 5th graders and we award seven college scholarships. We create and deliver Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets to low-income families. We supported our community’s Honor Flight with our Lobsterfest “Fund-A-Cause”.  Our local projects focus on  helping youth, people with disabilities, veterans, low-income families and the homeless. Lobsterfest supports many of these projects.

Please consider a sponsorship to help fund our many community projects! Contact Maria at mosterberg@legat.com .

Spring Grant Application!

Due to the outstanding support of our 2023 Lobsterfest, we are able to offer a Spring round of grants.  These grants are to be submitted for projects in the $10,000 range, but not to exceed $10,000.  Please follow the instructions on the application carefully, as there are some new requirements.  Contact Carol Foster at 563-391-4834 or carolfoster@empoweringabilities.org with questions.

Bettendorf Rotary Acre of Warmth Blanket Drive selected for December's 3 Degree Guarantee

In 2023, the Bettendorf Rotary Acre of Warmth Blanket Drive celebrates three years of keeping individuals and families in need warm during the winter months. Thanks to WQAD and Eriksen Chevrolet for contributing $540 to the cause! The Bettendorf Rotary envisions that they could cover several acres with the blankets if laid corner to corner.

Rotary Clubs all over the world help communities and people in other countries with projects that aim to provide sustainable ongoing development and help, not just immediate charity.

The Rotary Foundation also enables Rotarians to invest in people by creating sustainable, measurable and long term economic improvements in their communities and livelihoods by :
* Building the capacity of entrepreneurs, community leaders, local organizations, and community networks to support economic development in impoverished communities;
* Developing opportunities for productive work;
* Reducing poverty in under-served communities; and
* Supporting studies for career-minded professionals related to economic and community development.
